How does Laser Hair Removal Work?

What Can I Expect During my Treatment?

Your Technician will guide you through the process. Typically, we will ask you some questions prior to treatment to ensure there are no contraindications in proceeding with the treatment. Areas of treatment are marked out. Laser safety protection goggles are worn by the patient. A topical cooling gel is applied to treatment areas.  Our laser handpiece glides over the area while emitting light energy to the hair follicles. People may or may not feel a snap or pinch like sensation. After session is complete, we will clean away the gel and any hair.

What Do I Need to do Prior to Treatment?

Avoid sun exposure for 2-4 weeks prior to treatment. No tanning during treatments. Avoid plucking, tweezing, threading, waxing or using depilatory creams for 4 weeks prior to treatment. You can shave or trim. Avoid Accutane, Corticosteroids or skin thinning products in areas being treated. Client may need to be off of photo-sensitizing medications prior to treatments. Client must shave 24 hours prior to treatment.

What do I Avoid After Treatment?

Please avoid any sunlight for the first 48 hours post treatment as well as any type of exfoliation treatment. Do not tweeze, pluck, thread, wax or use any depilatory creams in between laser hair removal treatments as this will impact results and can stimulate hair growth. Also avoid tanning in between sessions. You can shave in between sessions.

 

How Many Treatments do I Require?

Clients will observe results in as soon as 2 sessions however in order to maintain permanency of results one will need anywhere from 4 – 8 sessions depending on area treated and skin type.
